A 400 cell ceramic catalyst is more like a standard specification part, but can be used to replace a defective or stolen original catalyst. It is rated to Euro 4 levels and so will clean the exhaust gas at the tailpipe to Euro 4 standards.

Sometimes, if an engine is sensitive to flow changes, a high flow metallic catalyst can cause the engine check light to come on, even when the replacement catalyst is working correctly. A higher density 400 cell catalyst slows gas flow and will prevent check light errors.
