About us
Jetex have been supplying performance exhaust systems since 1986. The market was very different with very few ‘performance’ exhaust suppliers. The market was small but had huge potential!
Luckily, Jetex were well positioned to offer customers an alternative to the brands of the day such as Ansa and Janspeed and set out with a small but varied range of mild steel exhausts that included;
BMW 2002Tii, Ford Cortina, Escort Mk1 and XR3i models, Opel Manta, Vauxhall Astra GTE, Nova GTE/GSi, Peugeot 205 GTi, Saab V4, 99 and 900, VW Golf Mk1 GTi and Volvo Amazon and 200 Series.
In conjunction with full exhaust systems, Jetex realised there was a need from car enthusiasts to be able to build their own exhausts. Jetex initially offered a range of piping, silencers and adaptors in 2″ and 2.5″. Today we now have 1.75″, 3″, 3.5″, 4″ and even 5″!
The aftermarket ballooned through the 1990s. Everyone remembers the rapid rise of Max Power and Fast Car that embraced the ‘lads’ culture of the mids-90s to early 2000s.
During this period, Jetex expanded their exhaust range to include stainless steel systems and also added two completely new products; performance air filters and catalytic converters, both ranges that met (and continue to meet) the high standards that Jetex were and are still known for.
The aftermarket today has changed significantly. There are many more suppliers of exhausts, filters, wheels, bodystyling, remaps and in-car entertainment (ICE – how big was this 15 years ago?). Even the OE manufacturers have got on board, and now some of these add-ons are available direct from the factory – albeit at a premium.
By maintaining our philosophy of only offering customers well engineered products, Jetex remain well positioned in the aftermarket. We continue to add to our range of sports exhausts, performance air filters and catalytic converters.
